By the age of 21, Marina was already regarded as one of the best Bodyfitness competitors in the world. We are talking about Marina Braxs, a great fitness competitor in Spain and a renowned fitness model in the USA.
Her impressive curves, and perfect combination of muscles and explosive sensuality, have earned her photoshoots with the best photographers in the USA.
Marina Ruiz, better known as Marina Braxs (Braxs comes from the fact that she was called “The Brazilian” when she was little), was born on December 18, 1986 in the city of Malaga, Spain. From a very young age she showed her love for sports. At the age of 17 she began working in various gyms in her city as a dance teacher. And she combined this with her studies.
Despite going to work at gyms every day, she never set foot in the weight room until she was 20, when she started training and became interested in fitness, and her results were incredible. In just 7 months of training and at the young age of 21, she began competing and collecting great triumphs . Magazines and sport brands began to notice her, and from that moment on, her dizzying career as a fitness model began.
After spending a whole year competing and having been in the world championship, she decided to travel to Los Angeles, California and the visit the famous Gold Gym in Venice Beach. Only a week later she was noticed by photographer Jerry Fredick and did a photo report for Ironman magazine.
In 2007 Marina returned home and continued to train hard and prepare to compete in the next season. She was competing in several Fitness championships in Spain, and simultaneously featuring as a fitness model in magazines, catalogs and calendars. Marina began to stand out. That same year she wanted to return to Los Angeles, CA to attend the Ironman Championship. There she was noticed by Photographer Mike Yurkovic who took some photos for Muscular Development magazine.
Upon returning to Spain, she signed a contract with the Nutrytec Sport brand.
It was during her visits to Los Angeles, CA that she realized she had the opportunity to boost her Fitness career. She decided in 2008 to leave everything in Spain and move to Los Angeles. It was a hard decision to move alone without knowing anyone. She was barely 23 years old and the worst thing of all is that she didn’t even speak English. At first it was hard but little by little she was carving her path as a fitness model.
While there, she worked with many of the best photographers and professionals in the industry including Ralph Dehaan, photographer for Flex magazines,
Musclemag International, Women`s Physique World, BodyFitness … and Robert Reiff who is considered one of the best and works with magazines like Flex, Muscle & Fitness, Titan Sport, American Curves … and for his great prestige, he has taken photos of J.C. Van Damme, Prince, Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwarzeneger many times.
Marina spent 3 years there working as a Fitness model but often came home to Spain to see her family and spend her off seasons there. While in Los Angeles, she is known for her relationship with actor Derrick Pierce, with whom it seemed they would continue for a long time since he was in Spain to meet Marina’s family. But in late 2009, their relationship ended.
After a new contract with a new manager in California, Marina had to return to Las Vegas in September 2010 to work at Olympia, and also compete at the Arnold Classic. But in August of that year she got pregnant by her current boyfriend, so Marina could not return to California because she wanted to have her child in Spain, with her family.
In her pregnancy she gained 35 kilos, and her followers thought that they had already run out of her Marina Braxs !! but Marina showed once again that she is a fighter and in just 7 months she had already recovered her figure !!! She was already photographed and being advertised by her new sponsor Nutrytec Sport.So the new mom was already starring in magazines again. That same year she made her appearance at the Arnold Classic Europe in Madrid, as a special guest and presenter of the professional championship of women’s Fitness.
The next event of this sport and most important at a European level, was the Fibo in Germany where the best athletes of this industry meet, and there was Marina Braxs, who surprised us all in her new facet; she was the new reporter of the well-known tv show, Perfect Bodies tv.
Although she decided to put competing on the back burner to be able to dedicate more time to her son, she continued to be in all the most important events in this industry. She starred in magazines and publications from her sponsor with whom she was working at the Arnold Classic Europe. She did it again in Madrid and was signing and photographing with all her followers.
In 2013 she reappeared at the Fibo in Germany, and this year she signed with a new sponsor, a brand that is hitting very hard in Spain, Starlabs Nutrition . At the next Arnold Classic Europe we could see her with her new brunette image, and there she was signing at the stand of her new sponsor.
Despite having not competed for a few years, Marina Braxs is still one of the best-known bodyfitness models in Spain. Perhaps not for her competitions, as she has taken a break from them for now, but for starring in hundreds of photos in magazines and publications on the internet, where thousands of followers follow her on all social networks.

Con 21 años ya se media entre las mejores bodyfitness del mundo. Estamos hablando de Marina Braxs, una gran competidora de fitness en España y una reconocida modelo fitness en USA.
Sus impresionantes curvas, y su perfecta combinación de músculos con una explosiva sensualidad, le ha valido para ser fotografiada por los mejores fotógrafos de los EE.UU.
Marina Ruiz, más conocida como Marina Braxs ( Braxs viene porque desde pequeña la llamaban “ La Brasileña “ ) nace el 18 de diciembre de 1986 en la ciudad de Málaga, España . Desde muy pequeña ya mostraba su afición por el deporte. A los 17 años empezó a trabajar en diversos gimnasios de su ciudad como profesora de baile. Y lo combinaba con sus estudios.
A pesar de ir todos los días a trabajar a gimnasios, nunca pisó la sala de máquinas, hasta la edad de 20 años, en la que comenzó a entrenar y a interesarse por el fitness, y sus resultados fueron increíbles. En tan solo 7 meses de entrenamiento y a la temprana edad de 21 años empezó a competir y a recoger grandes triunfos. Revistas y marcas deportivas empezaron a fijarse en ella, y a partir de ese momento comenzó su vertiginosa carrera como modelo fitness.
Tras haber estado todo un año compitiendo y después de haber estado en el campeonato del mundo, en el que clasificó entre las 15 mejores del mundo, decidió irse a Los Angeles, California y así poder conocer el famoso gimnasio Gold Gym de Venice Beach. Estando allí tan solo una semana, el fotógrafo Jerry Fredick se fijó en ella y le hizo un reportaje de fotos para la revista Ironman.
En el año 2007 Marina siguió entrenando duro y preparándose para competir en la próxima temporada. Estuvo compitiendo en varios campeonatos Fitness en España, y a la vez empezaban a destacar sus trabajos como modelo fitness en revistas, catálogos y calendarios. Ese mismo año quiso volver a Los Angeles, CA y así poder acudir al campeonato Ironman. Estando allí el fotógrafo Mike Yurkovic se fijó en ella, y le hizo unas fotos para la revista Muscular Development.
A su regreso a España firmó un contrato con la marca Nutrytec Sport. Tras sus visitas a Los Angeles CA. y ver que allí podría impulsar mejor su carrera Fitness, decidió en el año 2008 dejarlo todo en España y marchar a Los Angeles. Fue una dura decisión ya que se marchó sola sin conocer a nadie, apenas tenía 23 años y lo peor de todo es que ni siquiera hablaba inglés. Al principio fue duro pero poco a poco se fue abriendo hueco como modelo fitness.
Estando allí trabajó con muchos de los mejores fotógrafos, profesionales de la talla de Ralph Dehaan, fotógrafo de las revista Flex, Musclemag International, Women`s Physique World, BodyFitness… y Robert Reiff que es considerado uno de los mejores y trabaja con revistas como Flex, Muscle&Fitness, Titan Sport, American Curves… y por su gran prestigio le ha hecho fotos a J.C.Van Damme, Prince, Clint Eastwood y en multitud de veces a Arnold Schwarzeneger.
Marina estuvo 3 años allí trabajando como modelo Fitness pero a menudo venía a España para ver a su familia y pasaba temporadas allí. En el tiempo que estuvo en Los Angeles se le conoce su relación sentimental con el actor Derrick Pierce, con el que parecía que seguirian por mucho tiempo ya que él estuvo en España para conocer a la familia de Marina. Pero a finales del 2009, su relación se terminó. Tras un nuevo contrato con un nuevo manager en California, Marina tenía que regresar en septiembre de 2010 a Las Vegas, para trabajar en el Olympia, y más tarde en el Arnold Classic, y también competir. Pero en agosto de ese año se quedó embarazada del que era su actual novio, entonces Marina no pudo regresar a California ya que quiso tener a su hijo en España, junto a su familia. En su embarazo engordó 35 kilos, y sus seguidores pensaron que ya se habían quedado sin su Marina Braxs!! pero Marina volvió a demostrar una vez mas que es una luchadora y en tan solo 7 meses ya había recuperado la figura!!! y fue fotografiada en una nueva sesión de fotos para la nueva publicidad del que era su sponsor Nutrytec Sport. Así que la primeriza mama ya estaba otra vez protagonizando revistas. Ese mismo año hizo su aparición en el Arnold Classic Europe en Madrid, como invitada especial y presentadora del campeonato profesional del Fitness femenino.
El siguiente evento de este deporte y más importante a nivel Europeo, era la Fibo de Alemania donde se reúnen los mejores Atletas de esta industria, y allí estaba Marina Braxs, que nos sorprendió a todos en su nueva faceta, era la nueva reportera del conocido tv show, Cuerpos Perfecto tv.
Aunque había dejado las competiciones un poco aparcadas para poder dedicarse más tiempo a su hijo, siguió estando en todos los eventos más importantes de esta industria, y protagonizando revistas y publicaciones de su sponsor con en el que estuvo trabajando en el Arnold Classic Europe que se volvió a hacer en Madrid y en el que estuvo firmando y fotografiándose con todos sus seguidores.
En el año 2013 volvió a aparecer en la Fibo de Alemania, y en este año firmo con un nuevo sponsor, una marca que está pegando muy fuerte en España, Starlabs Nutrition. Y en el siguiente Arnold Classic Europe la pudimos ver con su nueva imagen de morena, y allí estaba firmando en el stand de su nuevo sponsor.
A pesar de llevar ya unos años sin competir, Marina Braxs sigue siendo una de las bodyfitness más conocidas en España, quizás no por sus competiciones ya que las tiene por ahora aparcadas, pero si por protagonizar cientos de fotos en revistas y publicaciones en internet, donde la siguen miles de seguidores por todas las redes sociales.
